H.U.G - Relaxed Music Evening

This will be our first event for "Let's Talk About Sam"!!

The aim of this event is to:

1. Help: raise awareness of mental health and use Sam's experience and story to help others.

2. Understand: what mental health is and different aspects of the illness. There will hopefully be people from Mind and Heads Together, two mental health charities to provide information on this topic.

3. Give: all money raised from tickets, food and drink on the night etc will all go to Mind and Heads Together, two excellent charities that are trying to raise more awareness of mental health, break the stigma and let people know, its ok not to be ok.

It would be amazing if you could join us for what should be an amazing evening but most importantly relaxed and a great opportunity to try and raise some awareness.

The evening will be held at Sheffield Salvation Army on the 27th October at 7pm. The link to buy tickets will be posted soon!!

Gina Atkins EP Launch

The best way to describe Gina, having only just met her is; bubbly, hilarious and full of vibes and character. Gina is a singer-songwriter whom has just graduated from Leeds College of Music studying Popular Music. It is not only Gina’s love for music that has led her to release this EP named, “The Story” but also her love for helping others, especially those suffering from a mental illness.

This EP consists of three songs, containing jazz and soul elements in which Gina will be launching on the 23rd October in LS6 Café. All the money she raises from this is going to a local mental health charity, Cloth Cat.

Cloth Cat empowers people through music by providing musical training to improve the quality of people’s lives, especially their employability. This often been one of the many causes for cases of mental health.

Gina is open to the fact she herself has never experienced any mental health issues but has been inspired by those around her that are going through some pretty difficult times and it is therefore amazing and so inspiring to see her using an incredible gift and sharing it with those in need.

If you live near Leeds or just want a night of celebrating the amazing work Gina is doing for Cloth Cat then please come along and hear her at 7pm (doors open)-11pm - LS6 Café and it’s….. FREE ENTRY!! There will be a chance to buy her EP and also enter a raffle on the night!

World Suicide Prevention Day 2018

Join people around the world to acknowledge your support for suicide prevention globally and remember a loved one or friend by lighting a candle at your window at 8pm.

This simple gesture is a symbol of a huge act and is also a way of showing your respect to families around the world whom are suffering the loss or for those who have attempted suicide but have survived and who are hopefully on the road to recovery.
